Job summary

STR, Sensors Division, SAAM Group, seeks an Associate Researcher to advance autonomy capabilities through AI/ML and simulation. You will work on multidisciplinary teams, design algorithms, and develop scalable simulations for national security applications.

Ideal candidates have programming experience (C++, Python, MATLAB), strong writing skills, and an interest in ML and scientific computing. A Secret clearance or higher is required.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to obtain a Security Clearance at the Secret level (US citizenship)
• BS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or related field
• Good programming skills in one or more scientific languages such as C++, Python, or MATLAB; familiarity with object-oriented concepts
• Experience or interest in machine learning and scientific computing (Linux, git, bash, CI/CD)
• Strong technical writing and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and modify cutting-edge ML and other algorithms for autonomy studies
• Create, expand, upgrade, and maintain algorithms in software
• Design, develop, validate, and manage large-scale simulations and tools
• Contribute to technical reports and presentations for government customers
