Confidential is seeking a Mechanical Engineer - Mechanical Systems in the Bay Area to own flight-critical mechanical structures from concept through flight readiness. The role involves designing subsystems, performing analyses, and coordinating with structures, systems, and manufacturing teams to ensure safety, weight, and performance targets are met.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, 5+ years in safety-critical mechanical design, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Eng or related field.
• At least 5 years of mechanical engineering experience on safety-critical systems.
• Experience taking subsystems from concept to test and flight support.
• Strong CAD capability with SolidWorks or CATIA.
• Knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and FEA tools (NASTRAN/ANSYS).
• Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing processes and design-for-manufacture.

Responsabilités

• Design, analyze, develop, integrate, and verify aircraft mechanical systems.
• Own subsystem development from architecture through testing and flight support.
• Conduct first-principles analysis, FEA, and trade studies for performance and safety.
• Define requirements, manage interfaces, and coordinate with suppliers.
• Develop test fixtures and support environmental/qualification testing.
• Support build, integration, ground testing, and flight-test activities.
