Job summary

Saronic Technologies is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to implement new tooling and processes, scaling maritime autonomous surface vessels from development to full-rate production. You will integrate advanced manufacturing equipment, collaborate across design, quality, and production teams, and drive improvements in software-supported processes.

Role requires cross-functional leadership, strong problem-solving, and field readiness for a shipyard environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong communication skills across engineers, technicians, quality teams, and leadership.
• Comfortable working in a combined indoor/outdoor industrial shipyard environment.
• Occasionally work aloft in scaffold or manlifts and in confined spaces.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• May require travel to suppliers and other manufacturing sites.
• Follow shipyard safety policies including PPE, fire prevention, and confined space protocols.

Responsibilities

• Lead the manufacturing development of processes and tooling requirements for building Autonomous Surface Vehicles (ASVs).
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure tooling and processes add efficiency while meeting specifications.
• Act as liaison between engineering, quality, and production to resolve design/construction challenges.
• Participate in design reviews and brainstorming sessions for vessel construction and processes.
• Support documentation, technical writing, and reports for internal use, regulators, and clients.
• Onboard new automated manufacturing assets with software and production engineering to drive improvements.
• Drive manufacturing process improvements across all areas of the operational system.
• Identify and resolve emerging needs on the manufacturing floor.
