Job summary

Transdev is seeking a Vehicle Test Assistant to support autonomous vehicle testing in California. You will simulate city traffic, operate on a closed course, and provide detailed feedback to engineers to enhance safety and reliability.

The role requires a high school diploma, at least 3 years of driving on public roads, and flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, or weekends. Travel up to 10% may be required, with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with using a touchscreen smartphone (Android preferred not required).
• Must have good attention to detail and be able to quickly and concisely describe thoughts.
• Capable of responding quickly and simultaneously to multiple scenarios.
• Adapt quickly to new and developing technology.
• Cross-functional verbal and written communication and issue escalation.
• Must be able to safely maneuver around autonomous vehicles.
• Travel up to 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Transdev’s high standard of safety, inside and outside of the vehicle.
• Demonstrate situational awareness and understanding of the technology in care.
• Be the deputy for technology by communicating courteously with management, engineers, and the public.
• Operate with safety as the primary goal.
• Work closely with vehicle safety operators and provide feedback about testing.
• Emulate a pedestrian, bicyclist, motorcyclist and/or motor vehicle driver.
• Set up/build small props.
• Comply with Transdev’s Autonomous Vehicle Division zero-tolerance policy regarding the use of alcohol or drugs during a shift.
