Job summary

Torc Robotics is seeking a Safety Engineer to drive operational safety concepts and risk assessments for ADS-equipped heavy trucks. You will develop safety plans, lead DFMEA/FTA/STPA analyses, and collaborate with product, design, and maintenance teams to ensure robust safety design for autonomous vehicle testing.

The role requires advanced degrees in CS/Robotics/EE and 4+ years (Bachelor) or 0-3+ years (Master) of relevant experience, with strong systems engineering and risk assessment skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree with related technical expertise and 4+ years (Bachelor) / 0-3+ years (Master) experience.
• Experience with automotive safety standards and risk assessment methods.
• Knowledge of safety analysis methods and systems engineering principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Operational Safety concepts, plans and requirements.
• Lead safety risk assessments with internal stakeholders.
• Create safety procedures for software releases and public road testing.
• Collaborate with product, design engineering, service, and maintenance teams to ensure safety design.
• Provide data analyses to support safety case across autonomous vehicle testing.
