Job summary

Atoms is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to own system requirements and interface control for autonomous vehicle and truck platforms. You will decompose platform-level requirements to subsystems, allocate sensing, compute, networks, and power, and establish verification plans with cross-team collaboration.

You will work across OEM vehicle platforms, off-highway trucks, and variants, ensuring traceability from requirements to verification and supporting integration and field feedback.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of systems engineering experience.
• Experience authoring system requirements for vehicle or robotics hardware/software.
• Experience writing interface control documents between hardware and software subsystems.
• Experience with a requirements management tool (Jama, DOORS, Polarion).
• Experience writing verification plans and acceptance criteria.
• Knowledge of vehicle networks and interfaces (CAN, CAN FD, Automotive Ethernet).
• Experience on autonomous vehicle or robotics platform.
• Experience handling sensor data across modalities and timestamps (camera, LiDAR, radar).
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis and tooling; ability to read C++.
• Strong written practice for requirements, interfaces, and verification reports.

Responsibilities

• Write and maintain system and subsystem requirements for vehicle and truck platforms.
• Create and maintain interface control documents between the autonomy kit and platforms.
• Lead reviews and change processes for interfaces you own.
• Manage requirements toolchain: structure, attributes, baselines, traceability.
• Write verification plans with environments for analysis, bench, simulation, on-vehicle tests.
• Produce requirements deltas and interface docs for new platform variants.
• Support integration, bring-up, and classify failures for defects and improvements.
• Document requirements and interfaces for engineers, technicians, and partner teams.
• Collaborate with hardware, autonomy software, safety, and bench/HIL teams.
