Job summary

Atoms is building the machines that power the next era of progress. This role focuses on hands-on vehicle test engineering, conducting ADAS/AV testing, and managing proving ground operations to ensure reliable, scalable real-world performance.

You will work with instrumented targets, RTK/GNSS ground truth, and data acquisition to produce defensible results. The role requires rigorous validity standards, safety judgment, and willingness to travel to test sites.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on vehicle test engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with instrumented targets and data acquisition.
• Experience executing published test procedures (Euro NCAP or NHTSA) or equivalent.
• Rigour about validity: reject runs outside tolerance and document why.
• Strong safety judgment in test environments and ability to stop tests when required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and run scenario cases at proving grounds and translate specifications into test procedures.
• Run scenario cases on public roads with safety drivers and document what occurred.
• Own risk assessment for testing including site layout and safety zones.
• Instrument ground truth: ego positioning, target position, timing and data capture.
• Define tolerance bands and determine the number of valid runs needed.
