Job summary

Bot Auto is seeking a Software Engineer, Security Engineering to build and operate security across its autonomous trucking stack, spanning in-vehicle and cloud environments. You will help protect our core IP, assess AI and LLM risks, and work across teams to implement practical safeguards.

This hands-on role offers exposure from vehicle to cloud, with strong emphasis on secure engineering discipline. You’ll collaborate with onboard, infrastructure, and platform security teams to implement

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/engineering/cybersecurity.
• 0–2 years in software/security engineering; internships/projects welcome.
• Proficiency in Python/Go/Rust/C/C++ or JS/TS.
• Fundamental understanding of auth, networking, OS and common security vulnerabilities.
• Familiarity with Linux and cloud/distributed systems; interest in securing production environments.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain security controls for onboard systems (secure boot, code signing, secrets management, OTA updates).
• Secure infrastructure and platforms (Kubernetes, AWS, on‑prem, CI/CD, internal development platforms).
• Evaluate protections for AI systems (prompt injection, data exfiltration, model risks).
• Build IAM, secrets management, and least-privilege across services/devices/fleet.
• Participate in threat modeling, security reviews, risk assessments with engineering teams.
• Operate vulnerability management, dependency scanning, SSDLC tooling and processes.
• Contribute to threat detection, logging, monitoring, and incident response.
