Job summary

Wayve is seeking a Vehicle Safety Operator to support on-road testing of autonomous driving systems in Japan. You will operate Wayve vehicles on public roads, evaluate vehicle behavior, and relay structured feedback to engineering teams to improve AI driving performance.

The role requires flexible shifts at Yokohama or Tokyo sites, with a 40-hour week and weekend work. You will contribute to data collection, safety reporting, and continuous learning in a dynamic, cutting-edge environment.

Qualifications

• Full, clean Japanese driving license held for at least 5 years.
• Strong driving experience in Japan and ability to operate in complex urban environments.
• Excellent communication skills in Japanese, calm under pressure.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Comfort using smartphones, tablets and standard workplace software.

Responsibilities

• Support real-world autonomous vehicle testing operations in Japan.
• Safely monitor autonomous driving systems and intervene as needed on road.
• Provide structured feedback to engineers to improve AI driving performance.
• Assist data collection/validation for training Wayve's AI systems.
• Maintain high safety standards and report issues accurately.
