Job summary

Source One Technical Solutions, LLC seeks an attentive Autonomous Vehicle Safety Driver in Dallas to support autonomous vehicle testing and safety. This is a 1-year, full-time role focused on data collection, safety assessments, and iterative improvements in collaboration with engineers and riders.

The position offers 40 hours per week with AM and PM shifts (6:00am–4:30pm and 2:30pm–1:00am); days rotate Sun-Wed, Thurs-Sun, or Sat-Tues.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional driving experience.
• Valid TX driver’s license.
• Clean driving record with no DUIs, drug, or alcohol offenses in the last 5 years and ≤1 violation point.
• Experience with workplace communication tools (Slack, Gchat, Teams) or GPS apps.
• Ability to anticipate hazardous situations and act quickly and safely in adverse conditions.
• Knowledge of local traffic regulations.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work in various weather conditions and on different road types.

Responsibilities

• Operate autonomous vehicles safely and lawfully to collect data on system performance.
• Interact with riders, engineers, and operations leaders to provide feedback and insights.
• Monitor vehicle performance and conduct in-field testing for safety.
• Prepare vehicles daily for in-field operations, including safety checks and system readiness.
• Submit detailed reports to support system advancements and operational improvements.
• Be prepared for the actions of other drivers and pedestrians and for unexpected events.
• Be alert and distraction-free while in vehicles.
