Job summary

General Motors seeks an Autonomous Vehicle Safety Assurance Technical Program Manager to lead the SAFE-ADS operating plan in Sunnyvale, coordinating safety risk management, validation, data, and cross-functional teams. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field.
7+ years leading complex technical programs in autonomous vehicles or safety-critical domains.
3+ years in technical program management with execution across multiple technical teams.
Experience with software lifecycles, validation, release planning, and CI/CD.
Proficiency with Jira/Jira Align, Confluence, SharePoint, Smartsheet, or equivalent tools.
Ability to translate vague objectives into structured execution plans and measurable outcomes.
Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to influence without authority.

Responsibilities

Own the integrated execution model for SAFE-ADS initiatives, turning objectives into roadmaps and ownership models.
Translate requirements and commitments into clear workstream charters and delivery plans.
Coordinate planning-cycle updates and reflect changes in scope, priorities, and dependencies.
Establish governance, status reports, action tracking, decision logs, escalation paths, and program reviews.
Drive risk mitigation and provide decision-ready recommendations for issues.
Partner with engineering, operations, quality, Legal, and GPSSC on incidents, investigations, and improvements.
Improve workflows and data quality across Jira, Jira Align, Confluence, and SharePoint.
Maintain traceability across requirements, tests, metrics, risks, and approvals.
