Job summary

Truckingpeople is hiring Safety Drivers / Vehicle Operators in Austin to support autonomous vehicle testing and real-world driving.

You’ll operate and monitor autonomous vehicles on public roads while helping collect driving data and support the development of autonomous driving technology. No autonomous vehicle experience is required — paid training provided.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of recent driving experience.
• Clean driving record.
• 3+ years of continuous licensing history.
• Comfortable driving in city traffic and on highways.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor autonomous vehicles during real-world testing.
• Drive on city streets and highways.
• Take control of the vehicle when necessary.
• Follow traffic laws and practice defensive driving.
• Monitor traffic, pedestrians, road conditions, and surrounding vehicles.

Put Your Driving Experience to Work in Autonomous Vehicles

We're hiring Safety Drivers / Vehicle Operators in Austin to support autonomous vehicle testing, self-driving technology, vehicle operations, and real-world driving.

You’ll operate and monitor autonomous vehicles on public roads while helping collect driving data and support the development of autonomous driving technology.

No autonomous vehicle experience required — paid training provided.

What You'll Do

• Operate and monitor autonomous vehicles during real-world testing
• Drive on city streets and highways
• Take control of the vehicle when necessary
• Follow traffic laws and practice defensive driving

Requirements

• 1+ year of recent driving experience
• Clean driving record
• Daily or high-frequency driving experience strongly preferred
• Valid U.S. driver's license with 3+ years of continuous licensing history
• Strong driving and vehicle-control skills
• Comfortable driving in city traffic, highways, and different weather conditions
• Comfortable using GPS, navigation, smartphones, and mobile apps
• Calm, focused, and professional in stressful situations
• Reliable, safety-focused, and detail-oriented
• Able to follow instructions and communicate clearly
