Job summary

Capgemini seeks an entry-level Functional Safety Engineer Expert for an on-site, 9-month contract in Texas City, TX. The role focuses on ensuring safety and reliability of autonomous robotic vehicles, identifying hazards with STPA and implementing risk-based requirements across the product lifecycle.

You will collaborate with hardware and software teams to integrate safety into design, development, verification, and validation, following relevant safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Good understanding of Functional Safety lifecycles.
• Conduct safety analyses including STPA, FMEA, and FTA.
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to allocate safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Promote a culture of safety and compliance across the organization.
• Develop functional safety concepts and requirements for autonomous vehicle control systems.
• Review safety verification and validation activities and safety documentation.
• Ensure compliance with internal safety processes and industry standards (ISO 25119, ISO 13849, IEC 61508).
• Prepare safety plans, safety cases and safety reports.
• Participate in safety audits and provide technical safety guidance.
