Job summary

Tata Technologies Ltd. in Foster City, CA is seeking a Vehicle Systems Integration Engineer, Diagnostics to own design, development, and validation of real-time diagnostic algorithms for vehicle-centric systems.

You will work at the intersection of hardware, firmware, and autonomy software, collaborating with teams across Vehicle System Engineering, Firmware, and Fleet Operations to deliver robust diagnostics.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer/Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Aerospace, or related field.
Master's degree preferred.
6–8 years of professional experience in diagnostics, embedded controls, or vehicle systems engineering.
Strong C++ development skills in production or safety-critical environments.
Knowledge of diagnostic standards (UDS/ISO 14229) and vehicle buses (CAN/LIN/Automotive Ethernet).
Python data analysis and experience with large telemetry datasets.

Responsibilities

Design and implement real-time diagnostic monitors in C++, with plausibility checks and fault isolation.
Engineer diagnostic requirements: thresholds, debounce strategies, traceable to system-level failure modes.
Data-driven validation: use Databricks to characterize faults and tune thresholds.
Lead root cause analysis of field faults using telemetry and logs.
Produce technical specs and service procedures for fleet operations.
Monitor KPI and implement algorithm refinements and new monitors.
