Job summary

OWT Global, LLC is seeking a Software Engineer Level II to support development, integration, testing, and sustainment of advanced software for unmanned systems in Virginia Beach, VA. Expect work on autonomous navigation, sensor fusion, and ground control across BetaFlight, ArduPilot, and PX4 environments.

You will tackle complex codebases, integrate new capabilities, and ensure software transitions from development to fielded use, with a strong emphasis on reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Active Secret security clearance with TS/SCI eligibility.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or another applicable engineering field.
• Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience with a relevant degree or 7 years without a degree.
• Proficiency in C, C++, and object oriented software development methodologies.
• Experience delivering production software in an agile environment.
• Knowledge of autonomous navigation, path planning, and sensor fusion.
• Experience with UxS flight control environments (BetaFlight, ArduPilot, PX4).
• Experience with ground control software like QGroundControl and MAVLink.
• Proficiency with Python scripting and TCP/IP networking.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, test, and maintain software for unmanned systems.
• Develop autonomous navigation and path planning capabilities.
• Support waypoint navigation, geofencing, dynamic routing, obstacle avoidance, and collision detection.
• Integrate with UxS flight control systems and ground control software.
• Work with BetaFlight, ArduPilot, PX4 to develop and troubleshoot software.
• Develop and maintain interfaces for sensors and other hardware components.
• Apply data networking concepts to UxS communications.
• Build software from source and ensure successful compilation.
• Collaborate across software, electrical, mechanical teams and technicians.
