Shield AI is seeking an Engineer II to help build and test autonomy behaviors powering unmanned systems. You will work with experienced engineers to implement features, focusing on autonomy, robotics, and large-scale software systems.

Responsibilities include development and testing of tactical autonomy software, integrating components with sensors, communications, and actuation, and delivering reliable, well-tested code. Expect travel up to 20% for testing and collaboration.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in production-level C++ software development.
• 2-3 years in software sub-system scheduling/integration, behavior planning, motion planning, or flight controls.

Responsibilities

• Implement autonomy software features enabling unmanned platforms across air, land, sea, and space domains.
• Develop and test behaviors for coordination, target engagement, reconnaissance, and survivability in contested scenarios.
• Participate in the software lifecycle including implementation, testing, debugging, and verification/validation.
