Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking an experienced RN/NP to provide autonomous nursing care for pre- and post-transplant patients in acute settings. You will be a key member of the multidisciplinary transplant team, coordinating admissions, discharges, urgent evaluations, and patient education.

The role requires current California RN licensure, BART/BLS certification, and transplant care experience. Travel to UCSD locations may be required. CS will convert to CNIII level upon review.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• RN License issued by the State of California.
• BART or BLS certification at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six months of hire date.
• Experience of at least one year in patient/family education.
• Direct bedside nursing experience in a transplant-related inpatient unit or outpatient post-transplant care.

Responsibilities

• Provide autonomous nursing care for pre- and post-transplant patients in hospital settings.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary transplant team and communicate with physicians, staff, and families.
• Educate patients, staff, and community organizations; assist with admissions, discharges, and urgent evaluations.
