Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan is seeking an IT technician to provide advanced support for onboard hardware, fleet management, and safety systems in Bagdad, AZ. You will troubleshoot to minimize downtime, support wireless networking, and assist in Mine Technologies projects.

The role requires experience with onboard technologies, certifications, and the ability to work non-standard schedules in a 24/7 operation. Competitive benefits and housing options are offered.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of experience in computer/electronic systems hardware/software troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair plus one technical certification relevant to the role
• OR six (6) years of experience in computer/electronic systems hardware/software troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, and both scheduled and unscheduled overtime as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced support for onboard IT hardware and fleet management, safety and operational systems
• Perform advanced troubleshooting to minimize downtime and support wireless networking and data communications
• Mentor peers, configure and monitor wireless infrastructure, and contribute to network project design/implementation
• Work with low voltage onboard devices and mobile infrastructure systems
