Job summary

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, MD seeks Engineering Interns to help design, build, and test autonomous systems for real-world, challenging environments. Candidates pursuing BS, MS, or PhD in CS, EE, CE, robotics, ME, math or physics will contribute across hardware and software domains to end-to-end system development.

You will join a small, interdisciplinary team to implement and test software and hardware, advance autonomy/AI/ML algorithms, and support testing in lab,

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in CS, EE, CE, Robotics, ME, Math, or Physics.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
  • Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams; strong communication skills.
  • Eligible for Interim Secret clearance and ability to obtain Secret clearance; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and test software and/or hardware for robotic/autonomous systems.
  • Support autonomy/AI/ML algorithm development, prototyping and optimization.
  • Assist testing in lab, simulation, and field environments.
