Job summary

Waymo in California is seeking a Masters student intern on the Systems Engineering team to help design metrics, test plans, and simulated scenarios for autonomous driving systems.

You will build dashboards to monitor fault rates, support verification and validation activities, and develop automated data pipelines using Python and SQL. This hybrid onsite internship offers exposure to real-world mobility technology and company-wide benefits.

Qualifications

You will:

• Design and implement metrics, test plans, and simulated scenarios for testing the autonomous vehicle in off-nominal situations, such as after a fault occurs or when remote assistance is needed, across multiple platforms and in support of rapid commercialization
• Create dashboards to monitor, visualize, and analyze fleet-wide autonomous vehicle fault rates on public roads
• Support the Verification and Validation (V&V) of Fault Protection and Remote Assistance behaviors.
• Build automated pipelines using Python and SQL to update, version, and validate test coverage across safety-critical driving scenarios.

You have:

• Currently enrolled in a MS program in an engineering, computer science, or a related technical field of study
• Enthusiasm to understand a complex system and its various components
• Experience with data analysis/modeling using Python and SQL

We prefer:

• Familiarity with autonomous vehicle technology and systems engineering principles.
• Comfortable with ambiguous problems in a fast paced environment.

Note: This will be a hybrid onsite internship position.

Hourly Masters Pay

$70-$70 USD
