Job summary

General Motors is hiring an on-site internship for AV Systems, Sensing and Integration in Milford/Warren, MI. The role spans systems engineering, advanced integration, build and automation, with cross-functional collaboration across hardware, software, and testing teams.

You will contribute to sensor placement, data analysis, scripting for automated tests, and validation across development vehicles and benches. Graduation window 2027–2028 applies.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Mechatronics, System Design, Mechanical, Chemical or equivalent).
• Must be graduating between December 2027 and August 2028.
• Coursework or project experience in Python or MATLAB for embedded microcontrollers.

Responsibilities

• Define use cases, feature and sensing system requirements, safety goals, performance metrics and system interactions.
• Collaborate with platform and software teams to integrate hardware and software subsystems.
• Prepare acceptance test plans and ensure sensor performance.
• Develop scripts to automate testing in-vehicle and on benches.
• Execute functional bring-up and system integration on development vehicles.
• Document test results and support root-cause investigations.
