Job summary

General Motors offers an on-site internship focused on AV systems, sensing, and integration. You will help develop and validate cameras, radars, and lidars while collaborating with hardware and software teams across vehicle programs.

The role targets students in CS/Engineering with Python, MATLAB, or embedded microcontroller experience and a hands-on mindset. Expected to report to the office 5 days a week during the internship.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or Engineering.
• Coursework or project experience in Python, MATLAB, or embedded microcontrollers.
• Able to work full‑time, 40 hours per week during the internship.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering designs, including subsystems, and implement engineering changes.
• Develop requirements and subsystem technical specifications as required.
• Execute sensor-level tests on prototype vehicles.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, suppliers, and integration teams to ensure performance meets specifications.
• Perform bench and laboratory testing, debug hardware issues, and document results with engineering teams.
• Assist with calibration and environmental evaluation for cameras, radars, and lidars.
• Analyze test data, communicate findings, and support root-cause investigations.
