Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider within the Department of Surgery to impact the surgical patient journey in an ambulatory setting. This role emphasizes autonomous outpatient management of post-operative and surveillance patients and development of expertise in complex wound and ostomy care.

The APP collaborates with surgeons and interdisciplinary teams, coordinates care across settings, and contributes to research, quality improvement, and specialty program development

Qualifications

• Board-certified ACNP or PA
• Surgical experience
• 1 year of experience preferred
• Ability to independently manage complex patients
• Interest in specialty program development

Responsibilities

• Provide autonomous outpatient management for post-operative patients, surveillance populations, and patients requiring complex wound or ostomy care.
• Conduct histories and physical examinations, perform ongoing clinical assessments, develop and implement treatment plans, and provide continued patient education and support.
• Coordinate transitions across care settings and serve as an advocate for patients throughout their care journey.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, workflow development, and process improvement efforts.
