Job summary

Apex Technology, Inc. is hiring a Flight Software Engineer to design, develop, and own autonomous software for Apex’s satellite buses. You will craft mission critical systems that run 24/7, ensuring reliable operation across all mission scenarios.

You will collaborate with internal teams and external customers, solving complex problems with scalable, practical solutions in a fast-paced startup environment based in Playa Vista, CA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, EE or equivalent.
• 1+ years of total flight software experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python, C++, Rust.
• Experience with real time systems on distributed hardware.
• Knowledge of embedded Linux, Yocto distributions.
• Familiarity with CCSDS/ECSS protocols and satellite systems.
• Experience with software integration, testing and validation for real-time systems.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP/UDP, secure communications, Protobuf and encryption.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and own mission critical software applications for satellite systems.
• Support commissioning of spacecraft during launch and early operations.
• Own spacecraft software solutions through full lifecycle from design to deployment.
• Perform unit, integration and system testing; identify and resolve defects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to baseline product requirements and roadmaps.
