Central Florida Health Care, Inc. in Winter Haven, FL is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to perform comprehensive health assessments, diagnose and treat psychiatric conditions, and coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team.

The role emphasizes autonomy and evidence-based practice, with responsibilities spanning evaluation, treatment, psychotherapy, and collaboration within the organization.

Qualifications

• APRN/PMHNP training required.
• PMHNP board certification is required.
• Geriatric experience preferred; child/adolescent experience a plus.
• Spanish speaking preferred.
• Experience: 1–2 years preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Establish therapeutic relationships to facilitate progress toward treatment goals.
• Provides psychiatric evaluation, diagnoses, and prescribes treatment; consults with collaborating physician as needed.
• Develops psychotherapy skills for diverse populations (individual, family, group).
• Keeps informed about current research and applies it to patient care.
• Uses DSM for diagnostic formulations.
• Maintains single electronic medical record with bi-psychosocial information.
• Performs psychiatric evaluations and medication follow-up.
• Enters progress notes into the medical record.
• Reviews labs and reports abnormal results to the provider.
• Provides therapy to patients ages 5 and up, families, and groups.
• Provides consultation to CFHC providers.
