Job summary

Pelorus Elder & Behavioral Health is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide initial and follow-up psychiatric consults in skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. The role offers a high degree of autonomy with support from three psychiatrists and a collaborative team.

PMHNP certification is required (NJ ideal; PA acceptable). NJ APRN license, active DEA, and strong English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• NJ APRN license, NJ DEA, AANP PMHNP certification (must be PMHNP)
• Active and unrestricted license
• Effective oral and written communication in English
• Basic proficiency with technology including EHR
• Strong organizational and documentation skills with regulatory compliance
• Ability to provide in-person services at assigned facilities
• Ability to move between patient rooms and offices within the facility

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and follow-up psychiatric consults in select facilities
• Limit bureaucracy: minimal documentation beyond initial and follow-up notes
• No hospital admissions or discharge planning
• On-call schedule approximately 1 weeknight per week and less than one weekend per month
• Autonomous practice with support from three psychiatrists and team
• Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications; PMHNP certification preferred; training available for right candidate
