Uber is seeking a Senior Technical Safety Lead to evaluate the safety and maturity of Autonomous Vehicle partners launching on the Uber platform. You will conduct rigorous technical due diligence, serve as the bridge between Uber and partners, and guide safety risk assessments for complex AV systems.

You will lead RDV criteria, regulatory translations, and data-driven improvements to the V&V pipeline while leveraging AI/ML methods responsibly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
• 7+ years in systems engineering with hardware/software integration.
• Proven track record in autonomous vehicle safety-critical systems.
• Experience with V&V methodologies and safety standards (ISO 26262, SOTIF).
• Proven experience performing Safety Risk Assessments (SRA).
• Excellent written and verbal communication with external partners.

Responsabilités

• Define and maintain technical rubrics and safety benchmarks for AV stacks.
• Lead partner integration with external and internal engineering teams.
• Author comprehensive Safety Risk Assessments (SRA).
• Translate regulatory requirements into engineering solutions.
• Improve onboarding and assessment processes with data-driven improvements.
• Communicate with cross-functional stakeholders and leadership.
• Evaluate AI/ML approaches to safety validation with proper oversight.
