Job summary

Nissan is seeking an Autonomous Systems Research Intern to join our Santa Clara team for a 12-week program focused on mobility and autonomous driving technologies. Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a Master's or PhD program in CS, EE, robotics, or related field.
• GPA 3.0 or higher with transcripts for verification.
• Strong programming skills in C++ and/or Python.
• Experience with large datasets and quantitative analysis.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a research environment.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on experience with high-definition mapping, road structure estimation, and automated map maintenance for autonomous vehicles.
• Develop practical skills in large-scale geospatial data analysis, algorithm validation, performance evaluation, and data-driven engineering.
• Design, develop, and evaluate algorithms that compare vehicle sensor observations with existing map data.
• Analyze road geometry, lane configurations, traffic controls, and infrastructure changes using autonomous vehicle datasets.
• Collaborate with experienced autonomous vehicle engineers and researchers on mapping and perception projects.
