Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking an Autonomous Hauling Technology Specialist to lead MineStar Command for Hauling deployments at customer quarry sites in North America. The role involves on-site technical leadership, installation, tuning, and coordination with customers, dealers, and Caterpillar experts to ensure safe, efficient autonomous operations.

You will analyze data, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive continuous improvement while building local subject-matter expertise.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mining Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with MineStar Command for Hauling onboarding, Terrain, AOZ access, Command Builder, and Pit Technician tools.
• Experience providing field support in mining or industrial settings.

Responsibilities

• Lead the successful implementation of MineStar Command for Hauling at customer quarry, ensuring operational readiness, coordinating go-live activities, and driving system stabilization to achieve key performance targets.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers, coaching operations and maintenance teams on safe, effective, and sustainable use of autonomous hauling technology while developing local subject matter experts.
• Manage and optimize the integration of onboard and offboard systems, including machine control, autonomous technologies, communication networks, and electronic systems, to ensure reliable fleet performance.
• Monitor system performance and reliability, analyze operational data and trends, troubleshoot complex issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement solutions that improve reliability, productivity, and system utilization in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Champion safety, continuous improvement and performance sustainment, driving best practices, leading corrective actions, and conducting regular site engagements to sustain safe and reliable operations, optimize autonomy system performance, and maximize long-term customer value.
• Partner with Caterpillar engineering and product teams to resolve technical challenges, enhance system capabilities, and influence future product development.
• Capture and communicate Voice of Customer feedback to help shape product roadmaps, new features, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to the development of Remote Operations Support capabilities by improving processes, tools, and best practices as autonomous mining solutions continue to scale globally.
