Job summary

Komatsu West is seeking an Autonomous Haulage System (AHS) Technician to support deployment and operation of our AHS technology on Komatsu 930E haul trucks in Nevada. You will perform hands-on mechanical and electrical maintenance, assist with autonomous conversions, and collaborate with senior technicians to ensure safe, reliable autonomous fleet performance.

The role requires a proactive mindset, 2+ years in heavy equipment maintenance, and certification readiness including MSHA; rotating

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years' experience in heavy equipment maintenance or mining operations.
Fundamental knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems in heavy machinery; ability to read schematics and manuals.
Willingness to work rotating shifts and outdoor, noisy environments; MSHA certification preferred/required.

Responsibilities

Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on Komatsu 930E haul trucks for autonomous operation.
Assist with conversion and commissioning activities for autonomous haul trucks; conduct diagnostic assessments.
Carry out preventative maintenance on suspension, braking, hoist, and steering components to maintain safety and reliability.
Support Autonomous Haulage System functions including vehicle escort, restarts, and obstacle management.
Maintain accurate service records and follow escalation protocols for complex issues.
Communicate with Tier 1 technicians, site supervisors, and operations staff to ensure readiness and swift maintenance response.
Engage in structured training modules toward Tier 1 certification within Komatsu’s autonomous systems pathway.
Adhere to safety guidelines and environmental policies on site.
