Job summary

Jobtailor in San Francisco is seeking a highly motivated student to support the design, characterization, integration, and validation of autonomous hardware systems. You will work under senior engineers and help evaluate components for autonomous platforms, while writing sensor-data analysis and test-automation scripts in Python, C++, C, or Rust.

The role requires fundamentals in circuits and embedded software, comfort in a lab environment, and a willingness to commute 3–4 days weekly.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Strong fundamentals in circuits, signals, and embedded software.
• Coursework or project experience with embedded compute platforms and sensing tech.
• Proficiency in Python, C/C++, or Rust.
• Willingness to commute to San Francisco 3–4 days/week.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, characterization, integration, and validation of Bedrock autonomy hardware and related systems under senior-engineer guidance.
• Assist with component evaluations for autonomous hardware platforms.
• Write sensor-data analysis and test-automation scripts in Python, C++, C, or Rust.
• Run tests, collect data, and clearly document results for the engineering team.
• Work alongside senior engineers to help deliver robust autonomous hardware systems to the field.
• Contribute to hardware supporting autonomous systems on heavy construction equipment.
