Job summary

Amazon seeks a Drone Operator for Prime Air to support autonomous aircraft testing and field operations. The role includes remote drone operations, test planning, documentation, and safety compliance, with extensive travel to test sites.

You will work in outdoor and indoor settings, perform pre-flight checks, assist in lightweight maintenance, and coordinate field deployments to advance autonomous delivery technology.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow detailed procedures with strong safety focus.
• Ability to lift up to 49 pounds and stand for long shifts.
• Current FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
• 2+ years of hands-on remote-control pilot experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on test planning lifecycle and document test objectives, success criteria, and validation procedures.
• Develop and maintain operational documentation, processes, and workflows for test execution and data collection.
• Execute test flights with precision, perform pre-flight checks, and ensure aircraft readiness and safety compliance.
• Coordinate logistics planning for field operations, including site prep and equipment transport.
• Monitor system performance during test flights and document observations for analysis.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot issues and provide feedback on aircraft performance.
• Maintain FAA compliance and Amazon safety protocols across operations.
