Job summary

Skydio, the leading US drone company, is seeking an Aviation Regulatory Program Manager to drive regulatory strategy and secure approvals for autonomous drone operations in the US and globally.

You will lead submissions, coordinate with civil aviation authorities, and build scalable regulatory tracking systems across teams to ensure compliant, safe deployment of Skydio hardware and software.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in aviation, engineering, public policy, or related field.
  • Experience navigating regulatory frameworks for unmanned aircraft operations (U.S. and international).
  • Ability to communicate complex regulatory concepts clearly to regulators and internal teams.
  • Willingness to travel, including international.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, submit, and defend aviation regulatory approval requests, waivers, exemptions, and declarations.
  • Be a trusted resource for customers and partners pursuing advanced regulatory projects.
  • Develop and maintain scalable systems to track regulatory projects.
  • Translate emerging regulations into internal guidance and actionable plans.
  • Support product demonstrations and technical validation events with flight testing and solutions engineering teams.
  • Provide regulatory advice to customer support, product management, and engineering teams to ensure compliant use of Skydio's products.
  • Serve as a contact with civil aviation authorities, representing Skydio in regulatory reviews and audits.
  • Contribute to standards development and represent Skydio in industry bodies.
