Job summary

Autonomous Solutions, Inc. (ASI) is seeking a Guidance, Navigation, and Controls Engineer III to develop and validate algorithms enabling autonomous dozers to navigate work sites, track paths, and complete earthmoving tasks with safe, stable control.

As an Engineer III, you will work across perception, embedded software, and field operations teams to enhance GNC features, contribute to trajectory planning, and ensure robust performance under varied terrain and conditions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field; 5+ years experience in controls, navigation, robotics, or autonomous-systems software.
• Strong grasp of classical and modern control theory, PID and dynamics.
• Experience tuning algorithms on robotic/industrial/heavy-equipment systems.
• Proficiency with C++, Python, MATLAB/Simulink, and Linux.
• Familiarity with ROS/ROS2 and robotics middleware; machine-learning familiarity is a plus.
• Ability to analyze complex systems and troubleshoot software and integration issues.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, validate GNC algorithms for autonomous dozer applications.
• Contribute to vehicle motion control, path tracking, trajectory following, steering and speed control.
• Tune feedback-control for stability and performance; improve localization and state estimation.
• Collaborate with perception, embedded software, and test teams across deployments.
• Document models, interfaces, tests, and limitations; participate in design and code reviews.
