Job description

The Autonomous Control Software Systems Engineer will support the JETS II contract in Houston, TX.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand complex systems, including failure modes and interfaces.
  • Apply model-based systems engineering best practices to developing models of systems.
  • Experience with FMEAs, FMECAs, fault trees, or other fault management design and analysis tools. Some software experience is required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED:

This position has been posted at multiple levels; candidates will be considered at the appropriate level based on experience and qualifications. Requirements include:

  • US Citizenship or Permanent Residency due to security considerations.
  • Space industry or DoD work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • 5+ years of recent and relevant work experience.
  • Experience with modeling complex cyber-physical systems and risk assessments, fault/failure analysis, redundancy, fault tolerance, system health management, prognosis, or fault management frameworks.
  • Strong background in dynamics.
  • Experience with mechanical and electrical systems.

DESIRED:

  • Experience with avionics and software architecture.
  • Proficiency with NASA software and systems development standards, C/C++ coding, Linux, and scripting languages such as Python.

WORK LOCATION:

  • Onsite position.
  • Offers a 9/80 schedule, every other Friday off.
  • May require some travel.

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:

All employees must pass a national agency check; some positions require security clearance and extensive background verification.


DRUG AND ALCOHOL SCREENING REQUIRED:

Pre-employment drug screening is mandatory; some contracts require periodic random testing.
