Autonomous Control Software Systems Engineer

The Autonomous Control Software Systems Engineer will support the JETS II contract in Houston, TX.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand complex systems, including failure modes and interfaces.
  • Apply model-based systems engineering best practices to develop system models.
  • Experience with FMEAs, FMECAs, fault trees, or other fault management tools. Some software experience is required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED:

  • This position has multiple levels; candidates must meet the minimum level indicated. We reserve the right to consider candidates at any level based on experience and business needs.
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status is required due to the sensitivity of information.
  • Experience in the space industry or DoD work is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
  • 5+ years of recent relevant work experience is required.
  • Experience modeling complex cyber-physical systems and with risk assessments, fault/failure analysis, redundancy, fault tolerance, system health management, prognosis, or fault management frameworks.
  • Experience with mechanical and electrical systems.

DESIRED:

  • Knowledge of avionics and software architecture.
  • Proficiency with NASA software and systems development standards.
  • Proficiency with C/C++, Linux, and scripting languages such as Python.

WORK LOCATION:

  • Onsite position.
  • 9/80 schedule, every other Friday off.
  • May require some travel.

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:

All employees must pass a national agency check; some positions require a clearance and extensive background verification.

DRUG AND ALCOHOL SCREENING REQUIRED:

Pre-employment drug screening is required; some contracts involve periodic random screening.

STANDARD BASTION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective communication skills, team-oriented, organized, and safety-conscious.
  • Ability to work in an office environment, sitting or standing for extended periods, lifting up to 25 lbs., and adhering to work schedules.
