Job summary

Stratus in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Civil-Structural Engineer to plan, design, and construct or repair building and infrastructure projects. You will lead projects from idea to occupancy with minimal oversight, collaborating with clients and multi-disciplinary teams.

The role requires a 4+ year engineering background, a civil engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program, and EIT certification. Proficiency with structural software and Autodesk tools is preferred, with some travel over

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from ABET-accredited university (structural emphasis preferred).
EIT certification required; PE is a plus.
4+ years of engineering experience.
Experience in designing structural systems in concrete, steel, masonry, wood, etc.
Working knowledge of STAAD Pro, Ram Elements, or RISA 3D preferred.
Working knowledge of Autodesk products (CAD, Advanced Steel, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications.
Perform structural analysis using software and hand calculations.
Develop knowledge of building codes (state, IBC, ASCE, etc.).
Collaborate with designers/drafters to produce construction drawings and specs.
Conduct field investigations to document existing conditions.
Develop reports, structural assessments, and repair recommendations.
Provide construction phase services such as submittal reviews and RFIs.
Meet project budgets, schedules, and performance criteria with team members.
Some travel may be required, primarily in the continental United States (approx. 10%).
