Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care Walk-In Clinics seeks Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners to support Iowa City/Corridor Walk-In Clinics (Urgent Care/Quick Care). This is a 100% (40 hours per week) position providing direct patient care in a fast-paced setting, with evenings, weekends, and some holidays.

ARNPs will assess patients of all ages, order medications, perform procedures, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Current board certification (FNP) and licensure as ARNP in Iowa.
• Master's degree in Nursing; ARNP eligible.
• Urgent care/walk-in clinic experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• BLS, ACLS and PALS within first 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in Quick Care and Urgent Care clinics; rotate sites.
• Obtain medical history and perform physical examinations.
• Order medications and manage treatment plans.
• Educate healthcare students and participate in research endeavors.
• Coordinate referrals and follow-up care.
