Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking an experienced RN/NP for its 7 West Progressive Care Unit at the Hillcrest Campus in San Diego. The unit cares for high-acuity medical-surgical patients with dedicated observation and monitoring capabilities.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• RN License issued by the State of California.
• BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six (6) months of hire date.
• Must have a minimum of two (2) years of recent acute care RN experience at the step-down, IMU, PCU, or Telemetry level of care or higher acuity.
• Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and consistently demonstrate empathy and kindness to all staff and patients.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage multiple levels of information and responsibilities, and to quickly assess moderately-complex problems to develop potential solutions.
