• Checks out tools and equipment to customers and may collect amount for user fees. Maintains records pertaining to tools and equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
• Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
• A one-year probationary period may be required.
• Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
• Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a medical examination.
• Incumbent may be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
• Physical Effort: May be required to lift parts and equipment that weigh up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift items weighing about 50 pounds during the course of the demonstrations.
• WORKING CONDITIONS: Most of the work is done inside the shop, which is generally well-lit, heated and ventilated. The training leader may occasionally work outside or in areas that are drafty, cold and poorly lit.
• Failure to satisfactory complete the physical and background checks may result in separation.
• Must be able to work a schedule that may include working nights and weekends and possible holidays.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with shop patrons, both by oral means and by demonstrating work methods.
• Must have sufficient knowledge of the overhaul, repair, and installation of a variety of components, accessories, parts, assemblies; the ability to show proper techniques to be followed.
• Skill in observing the participants in the automotive crafts activities and determine their ability to accomplish tasks initiated.
• Must be 18 years of age by appointment date to meet state requirements.

Allowances and Differentials

• This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
• Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
