Duties
- Opens and unpacks cartons of materials and removes contents. Moves or uses hand truck to move various items requiring delivery or storage. Sets up and breaks down multi-functional areas. Arranges mobile furniture, movable walls, light equipment, etc.
- Polices assigned areas, collects and disposes of trash and debris, cuts grass and pulls weeds, waters grass and flower beds, spreads mulch, and rakes leaves. Shovels snow and outs down salt.
- Washes and waxes vehicles.
- Sweeps, vacuums, mops, and waxes floors. Uses industrial household cleaners to clean, disinfect and deodorize windows, mirrors, fixtures, and facilities.
- Replenishes supplies as necessary. Reports facility condition to supervisor including the need for repairs. Dusts and polishes furniture. Empties trash.
- Routine work assignments are completed with little supervision. Specific instructions are provided on new or unusual assignments. Work is reviewed in progress or upon completion for compliance with instructions and established practices.
- Responsible to identify and report obvious hazards, malfunctioning equipment, and any other situations that may impact work operations.
Requirements

- Requires light to moderate lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 30 pounds and occasionally 45 pounds. Required to stand, walk, bend and kneel for lengthy periods of time.
- Required to follow safety procedures and use standard safety equipment such as gloves, ear protectors, and safety glasses to avoid possible hazards in the work area.
- Must be able to work vary/rotating shifts that include days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Must attend Team Member Orientation within the first thirty (30) days of employment.
- Must be able to frequently lift and carry moderate objects up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift up to 45 pounds.
- Must be able to actively bend, stoop, stand, reach, and work in awkward positions.
- Works indoors and outdoors. May be exposed to adverse weather conditions when working outdoors. Exposed to drafts, noise, dust and dirt. Possibility of bruises, muscle strains, cuts and scrapes.
- Required to follow safety procedures and use standard safety equipment such as gloves, ear protectors, and safety glasses to avoid possible hazards in the work area.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

A Qualified Candidate Must Possess The Following
- Possess Three (3) months of laboring experience required.
- Must have the ability to use, control and clean tools and power equipment used, and ability to follow oral and /or written instructions involving duties with several distinct tasks or steps without constant supervision of each task assigned.

In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":
- Possess six (6) months of experience working with small engine repairs such as Trolling motor, lawnmower, chainsaw, etc.
- Possess twelve (12) months of working experience as a laborer or similar work experience.

Skill And Knowledge
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies.
The ability to perform simple manual tasks, and knowledge of cleaning, grounds maintenance, and lifting procedures. Skill and knowledge to safely operate and perform routine maintenance on hand tools and equipment (rake, pitch folk, wheelbarrow, hand-pump sprayer, hand truck, shovel, push lawn mower, hammer, screwdriver, wrench, pliers). Ability to understand common signs and read general instructions.

Area of Consideration
- This job is open to candidates who who are in the local commuting area (U.S. Citizens and Non U.S. Citizens that live within 50 miles of Fort. Rucker, AL). (Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.)
PCS Costs
- Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
Allowances and Differentials
- This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
- Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
