Job summary

Vertex Professional Services (VPS) seeks an experienced Automotive Technical SME to design, develop, and validate automotive service training content, including web-based modules, instructor-led materials, hands-on activities, and technical references.

The role requires advanced diagnostic experience, strong technical writing, and the ability to translate complex systems into clear, learner-friendly content.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years automotive technical experience, with broad understanding of modern vehicle systems.
• Experience delivering instructor-led training or leading shop-level learning activities.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic diagnostic strategies.
• Hands-on experience using OEM diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
• Ability to adapt instructional approaches to evolving automotive technologies.

Responsibilities

• Research and gather technical information from OEMs and service publications to ensure training content is accurate.
• Develop high-quality automotive training materials, including web courses, instructor-led materials, and hands-on labs.
• Translate complex automotive concepts into clear instructional content for various formats.
• Validate technical accuracy through hands-on testing and SME review.
• Collaborate with curriculum developers, instructional designers, and project managers to align with learning objectives and OEM requirements.
• Update existing training materials to reflect new technologies and procedures.
• Support creation of multimedia assets (videos, graphics, animations) with creative teams.
