Job summary

Zing Recruiting, in partnership with a prominent client in Birmingham, AL, is seeking a skilled Tool and Die Maker with a focus on automotive stamping. The role emphasizes troubleshooting, stamping operations, and a solid foundation in electrical and mechanical systems.

This full-time position offers competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits. The ideal candidate will maintain and repair tooling and dies, build and repair tools and fixtures, and collaborate with engineering and production

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of formal apprenticeship with journeyman card or equivalent to 5+ years experience.
• Experience with stamping equipment and processes in automotive manufacturing.
• Excellent problem-solving skills (8D and 5 Why).
• Experience with teardown, repairs, and reassembling tooling.
• Troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair tooling and dies used in automotive stamping operations.
• Build or repair all types, sizes and shapes of tools, dies, fixtures and jigs.
• Assemble and try out complex tools and dies on manufacturing equipment as required for production.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with stamping equipment and processes.
• Perform preventive maintenance on dies and stamping equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop and implement improvements.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in all maintenance and repair activities.
