Job summary

Hanon Systems is seeking an Engineering Test Technician to perform hands-on setup, instrumentation, operation, and documentation for automotive component and subsystem tests. You will convert technical requirements into repeatable laboratory testing while maintaining thorough records and adhering to safety and quality standards.

Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude plus experience with data acquisition and instrumentation are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in engineering technology or related field.
• Hands-on experience in a test lab or similar environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, specs, test procedures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and data interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Set up, instrument, operate, monitor, and document automotive test articles and subsystems.
• Assemble fixtures, wiring, sensors, and equipment for testing.
• Install and troubleshoot instrumentation like thermocouples, pressure transducers, and sensors.
• Control and run data acquisition and environmental test equipment per procedures.
• Record observations, monitor limits, and halt tests if safety or data validity is at risk.
• Support testing of refrigeration, HVAC, and thermal management products when assigned.
• Maintain test logs, notes, and data files.
