Advantage Technical is seeking an Automotive Test and Fabrication Technician to support vehicle testing and equipment operations in a lab setting. You will conduct standard tests, troubleshoot instruments, and help fabricate fixtures and wire harnesses for accurate test results.

The ideal candidate has hands-on tool experience, CAN/CAN FD knowledge, ECU reflash skills, and a proactive, collaborative approach. This role emphasizes safety and precision in a lab environment.

Automotive Test and Fabrication Technician

• Can prepare and conduct standard tests for respective area.
• Operates all equipment in area correctly and safely and can instruct less experienced technicians, as needed.
• Able to troubleshoot all testing equipment to a component level.
• Uses lab scheduling & data storage software/systems.
• Able to fabricate or modify parts or systems to match design directions. Can break testing into tasks & direct others on those tasks.
• Applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform asigned tasks as part of broader assignment

Core Qualifications

• Hands-on experience using hand tools and electronic test equipment - (Digital multimeters, Spectrum Analyzers, VNA, O-scopes, Power Supplies, Pliers, Screwdrivers, Ratchets etc.)
• Experience fabricating test boxes, custom fixtures, and complex wire harnesses
• Ability to assemble and disassemble vehicle interior and exterior components
• Strong multitasking skills, with the ability to transition between multiple activities and priorities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a laboratory environment
• Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving capabilities
• Effective communication skills, attention to detail, and a customer-focused mindset
• Solid understanding of electronics fundamentals
• Self-motivated and capable of taking initiative with minimal supervision
• Ability to Drive and Work Overtime when necessary Preferred / Bonus Qualifications
• Familiarity with Honda systems, processes, and work environment
• Experience with CAN/CAN FD diagnostics and related tools
• Experience leading or supporting root cause investigations
• Experience with noise and vibration measurements and analysis
• Experience reprogramming ECUs and test units within vehicles
• Experience developing or implementing process automation solutions
• Experience leveraging AI tools to improve efficiency and productivity LabVIEW development and troubleshooting experience

Key Skills

• Hands-on electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic experience.
• Experience performing electrical testing in vehicle or automotive-related environments.
• Familiarity with CAN and CAN FD communication systems.
• ECU reflash, software update, and calibration experience.
• Experience using oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and other test equipment.
• Ability to set up, execute, and document vehicle testing activities.
• Experience reviewing test results and troubleshooting unexpected outcomes.
• Wiring, harness fabrication, harness modification, and electrical drawing interpretation experience preferred.
• Ability to support engineers with vehicle data collection and testing activities.
• Experience m'aintaining, repairing, or managing test equipment is a plus.

Education
