Job summary

FR Conversions is seeking an Automotive Test Driver at our Westminster, MD location to perform structured road tests of modified vehicles, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. You will document findings, maintain logs, and coordinate with Quality Control to prepare vehicles for delivery or shipment.

The role is full-time, hourly, and safety-sensitive, with pre-employment screenings and a focus on thorough, precise testing across diverse vehicle types.

• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) for documenting findings and coordinating with internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform structured road tests of modified vehicles including wheelchair-accessible vans, ambulances, and specialty vehicles.
• Adhere to company-designated test routes and driving procedures to ensure consistency across all test drives.
• Evaluate vehicle performance for mechanical integrity, drivability, and safety compliance.
• Document and report any unusual noises, vibrations, alignment issues, braking concerns, or other irregularities.
• Coordinate findings with the Quality Control team and return vehicles for inspection when needed.
• Operate all vehicles in accordance with local traffic laws and internal safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate and timely logs of completed test drives and any defects noted.
• Ensure vehicle cleanliness and readiness prior to customer delivery or shipment.

Key Responsibilities

Job Categorization

This position is designated as a Safety Sensitive position.

A Safety Sensitive position at FR Conversions is subject to post-offer and random drug/alcohol screenings.

All positions at FR Conversions are subject to at cause and post-incident drug/alcohol screenings.

• Occasional lifting, bending, and climbing in and out of various vehicle types is required.
• Comfortable working in varying weather conditions.
