Job summary

AutoNation is seeking a skilled Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles at our California dealership. You will perform repairs per repair orders and factory standards, stay current with service bulletins, and participate in in-dealership training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• General mechanical knowledge of basic vehicle systems.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
• ASE certification or pre-employment test completion preferred.

Responsibilities

• Stay current in the latest diagnostic methods and service techniques for vehicles sold and serviced by the dealership.
• Perform work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, following dealership and factory standards.
• Follow factory and dealership repair procedures when performing warranty work.
• Participate in service technician training programs and stay updated with service bulletins and manuals.
• Record cause of failure and description of work on repair orders clearly.
• Communicate with service manager and team to confirm repair status and parts needs.
• Request parts from the parts department as necessary.
• Adhere to safety procedures to avoid exposure to fumes and chemicals.
