Job Description

The hourly pay range for this role is $15 - $16 guaranteed minimum, and $23 - $35 flat rate based on experience. The Technician position can be full-time or part-time, primarily responsible for basic diagnostics and routine vehicle repairs in line with company and manufacturer standards. Delivering exceptional customer service and effective communication about vehicle issues are key expectations.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Perform basic vehicle diagnostics to identify repairs.
  2. Complete Monro’s Courtesy Inspection on every vehicle, documenting and communicating additional services needed, and auditing inspections by General Service Technicians.
  3. Assist with inventory management, including pulling and stocking parts and tires.
  4. Maintain the store’s condition, ensuring cleanliness and guest readiness.
  5. Perform services safely, following safety standards including wheel torque and oil safety procedures.
  6. Test drive vehicles per policy, adhering to traffic and safety laws.
  7. Follow company policies, governmental standards, and safety protocols.
  8. Maintain technical knowledge through training modules.
  9. Operate and maintain all equipment safely and according to guidelines.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Basic automotive maintenance, repair, and tire services skills.
  • Ability to diagnose problems and identify solutions.
  • Ability to interpret instructions in various formats.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Automotive training or equivalent experience.
  • ASE certification and State Inspection license preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory MVR.
  • Own basic tools or participate in the tool purchase program.
  • Skills as listed in the profile summary.
