Job summary

Competition Auto Group St James, NY seeks an Automotive Technician to diagnose and repair Subaru vehicles, including engine, transmission, suspension, steering, and brakes. You will use diagnostic tools and communicate repairs and timelines to customers and service advisors.

Qualifications

• Looking for B and C level technician experience, preferably with Genesis and/or Hyundai brands.
• Must have a clean & valid driver's license
• Strong teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical problems on Subaru vehicles, including engine, transmission, suspension, steering, and brake systems.
• Use specialized diagnostic equipment and tools to identify and troubleshoot issues, and recommend appropriate repairs or replacements.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections, according to Subaru guidelines and standards.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest technical information and procedures for Subaru vehicles, and participate in ongoing training and certification programs.
• Communicate effectively with customers and service advisors, providing clear explanations of repairs needed, estimated costs, and timelines for completion.
• Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including parts used, time spent, and customer interactions.
• Collaborate with other members of the service team to ensure customer needs are met and work is completed efficiently and effectively.
• Possibility of sign-on bonuses depending on dealership policy and the candidate's experience and qualifications.
