Job summary

Bridgestone Retail Operations (BSRO) seeks an Automotive Technician in Des Moines, IA. You will learn and perform diagnostic, repair, and maintenance work under supervision, addressing various automotive systems and customer inquiries in a fast-paced service environment.

Key duties include routine inspections, tire maintenance, and committed workmanship. Sign-on bonus of $1,500 for first-time hires; pay range $21.85–$34.14 per hour; flat-rate compensation is used to reward efficiency.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• Experience with brakes, hydraulics, steering and suspension.
• Skilled in tire repair and general automotive maintenance.
• Current federal or state certifications where applicable.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly.
• Reading, writing, and math skills.

Responsibilities

• Change oil and perform scheduled maintenance.
• Inspect steering, suspension, and brake systems.
• Install batteries and check electrical systems.
• Perform tire maintenance.
• Install parts.
• Road test vehicles.
• Obtain or maintain ASE certifications within first two years; tests paid by company; bonus for each passed.
